EDITORIALRANBIR MANHAS Kashmiris: The self-destructors! 
The imperialists knew that the independent Indian government will never allow them to remain in India so they decided to divide it believing that Pakistan could be the ideal place for them to realize their plans. Kashmir is Paradise and Kashmiris are perhaps the most hospitable community on earth. These are some of the positive attributes of Kashmir and people there of. But there are some negative aspects also without which Kashmiri characteristic quality remains incomplete. Besides being hospitable Kashmiris are a sentimental community, which may not be a bad ting. But sentiments become bad when these block the light of reasoning. Consequently, ignorance befalls and truth is eclipsed. Had this not been true people of Kashmir wouldn’t have lost generation after generation without understanding the ‘truth of Kashmir problem’. Surprisingly, the Kashmiris are as ignorant about the ‘dispute’ as they were sixty years ago when it began —courtesy their unflinching faith in their leaders who continue exploiting their sincerity to obtain power, wealth and grace for them and their progenies. Surprisingly again, when whole world has understood the dirty designs of the West, Kashmiris are still blaming and cursing India and its leadership for the same. What bigger proof of their being innocent and ignorant could be than that? A little study of history is enough to lift the curtain behind which the secret of India’s Division lies. Britishers wanted to remain close to the oil fields of the Central Asia and block the way of USSR and China to these wells. The imperialists knew that the independent Indian government will never allow them to remain in India so they decided to divide it believing that Pakistan could be the ideal place for them to realize their plans. Another thing that the imperialists did was the creation of Kashmir dispute and the reason behind was to create conditions wherein Pakistan could remain dependent on them for help and they succeeded in their purpose. Today even after sixty years of British Raj leaving India, they are present in Pakistan. Though, people of Pakistan to a great extent have understood the real designs of their ‘friends’ Kashmiris unfortunately have yet to realize the British conspiracy against them. A common Kashmiri does not know that it was not the Qabailis (tribesmen) who raided Kashmir at their own, but the raid was organisied by the Pakistan Army headed by a British General and it was at the behest of the British that the complaint of aggression was registered in the UNO. The purpose was to linger on the dispute. Otherwise how could it be that the international court with imperialist domination failed to implement its own resolutions for over sixty years of their being passed? Though the main villains of patrician and Kashmir dispute are UK and USA, vested interest among Kashmiri leadership also was developed in due course of time. Eventually, Sheikh Abdullah succeeded in capturing power and enjoying its benefits for past over thirty years by exploiting Kashmiri sentiments in the name of self determination and now different factions of Hurriyat Conference are minting money and ruling the roost in the name of Azadi again at the cost of none else than those who believe them as their saviors. And all this is being done in the name of Kashmir dispute! The Arithmetic of Kashmir dispute is simple; the difficult question is why an intelligent community like Kashmiris fails to understand it. I know they will understand the dirty design, but when this is still a bigger proposition to solve! |
