Reporter Desk

“Kashmir issue does not belong to Kashmir region only, but it is a matter of whole Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and its solution will be as per the aspirations of people of the state”. This statement was made by former Chief Minister and Union Minister for Energy and Renewable Resources, Dr. Farooq Abdullah while addressing a gathering on the eve of 104th birth anniversary of his father Sheikh Mohd Abdullah at his graveyard situated at Naseem Bagh Hazratbal, Srinagar.

Without mentioning anybody Farooq Abdullah said that some people believe that Kashmir Dispute relates to Kashmir only but they are wrong. They should know that Jammu and Ladakh are also parts of the State. The solution therefore should also represent the aspirations of all the three regions. “And time has come when people will realize this reality and pave way for a consensus e solution of the Kashmir issue” he added.

Farooq Abdullah said “Situation in Jammu and Kashmir day by day is improving, but the attack on senior Hurriyat leader Fazul Haq Qureshi proves that the enemies of peace are still active. They are trying to put hurdles in the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, but will fail”. He prayed for fast recovery of Fazul Haq Qureshi, who is receiving specialized treatment in SKIMS, Soura.

Employment Policy a visionary document

Reporter Desk

Describing the State Government’s Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Policy as a historic landmark Devender Singh Rana, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, said that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has taken a historic step by unveiling a policy which will address the genuine aspirations of the unemployed. He was addressing members of a Self Help Group of Katal Batal area in Nagrota Assembly constituency.

“This is for the first time in the history of the state that the government has come out with a road map to tackle the menace of unemployment which is plaguing the state for the last many decades”, Rana said and added that the policy when implemented in letter and spirit will satiate the aspirations of the unemployed.

Rana said the policy has laid emphasis on employment, employability and skill development while caring for the un-represented and far flung areas that do not have access to formal education. He urged the National Conference and Congress cadres to take the policy to the grass root level so that the benefits of the policy reach out to each nook and corner of the state, which in turn will ensure that the unemployed all over the state are benefited.
